FAQ

EV QUESTIONS

Is an EV more expensive?

While the average EV is more expensive than a similar sized gasoline powered sedan, the EV market is under development with prices falling. In addition, there are many operation savings associated with owning and using an EV. Please look at the Benefits page for more information on the benefits of owning an EV.

What do I do when I run out of charge?

Instead of going to a gas station, EVs can be charged in their “home” by being plugged in. Instead of taking your EV to a gas station every week, it can be plugged in every night and have a full charge (or “tank”) in the morning. This is ideal for municipal fleet vehicles, because there will be no fear of running out of charge in the middle of the day.

Why is an EV a good vehicle for municipal fleets?

EVs make ideal vehicles for municipal fleets because of their routine uses and routes. Local fleet vehicles, such as police cars, school buses, and permitting and parking enforcement vehicles travel a limited and predictable number of miles throughout the day and stay in a confined area. EVs reduce operating costs and air pollution. And investment in the correct EV will eliminate any range anxiety concerns.
